so i heard that Russia is at war with Georgia, who thinks we should step in and who says we should stay out of it? also this is my first time using an LJ cut too so if might get it wrong

Personlly i think we should get involved in it because if we let them take Georgia, then China will take over that area whos name escapes me at the moment.....uhh..........i cant remmember but it's a democracy in the area while the rest of China is Kamunist and besides that, it will deffinatly make us look bad like we've dropped our guard on policing the world (which i think America taking charge is a good thing, which is another disscussion we'll have to bring up) and other countries will start raising chaos.

Why are you a Republican?: Because i am sick and tired of the Left whining; global warming caused by man, no blood for oil etc. I find it hard being one of the only republicans in my school. I will find myself standing up in the middle of class correcting teachers when they say something non sensicle such Americans causing global warming. Why? Becuase we're using technology that isn't made before fire? i seem to be ranting on as if it were my LJ. Moving on.

Do you have any problems with being a republican surounded by democrats?: Obviously. i answered this pretty well openly in the last survey question. I have no problems with someone being a democrat, but when the insults come up or the "what's wrong with you, you monster" look gazes at you, then the fights happen.

How do you feel on the war on terrorism?: Sadam's gone, that's really what matters.

Who is your favorite president?: My three favorite are Washington, Lincoln, and Reagan.

Where are you from?: Rhode Island. I know, surprises me too. Wretched socialist backwater is what it really is.

Any interesting stories, talents, hobbies?: I play the flute and a little bit of the piano. i enjoy reading and practicing martial arts. I am told by somme that i have a great sense of humar and by others that i have a sick and twisted sense of humar (is there any other kind?) and that i should not be using the internet. My true skill shines on video games and computers however, and I have never lost a multiplayer game of Halo 3 since i got it. I wish i was kidding, my skill amazes me sometimes so much that i have to put down the controller. I insist, i am not a nerd by any means, my immortality in a video game is an accident but hey, thats just one less thing.

I am a strong republican and i know the best thing for this country to have done this race was to elect Fred Thombson, now our only hope is to vote McCain. At least Clinton is out, and God save us if they had voted her in. But the only people who vote for her anyway are soccer moms and necrophiliacs so.....

Name: Freda

Age: 16 (will be 17 in a month)

Why are you a republican?: Because, as the parties go, the Republican Party represents my views and values best, particularly on national security and social issues. On the whole, I think of myself as a conservative first, Republican second.

Do you have any problems being a republican surrounded by democrats?: If they'll respect my opinions, I can respect theirs. But once words like "fascist" and "brain-washed neocon" start getting thrown in my direction, it does get taxing.

Political Persuasion (liberal, moderate, conservative, libertarian, Christian Conservatives): Conservative.

How do you feel about the war on terrorism?: Support it 100%. I believe we need to stay in Iraq--and keep a close eye on Iran, too.

Who's your favorite president?: Ronald Reagan.

Where are you from? (if you don't mind): New Jersey...quite a liberal Governor we've got o_O

What political issue is most important to you?: Preserving the free-market system; I can't stand the idea of our country sliding into socialism.

What, if anything, would you do differently
from George W. Bush if you were president?: I would not support 'comprehensive immigration reform', and definitely not sign that recent energy bill.

any interesting stories, hobbies, talents?: Bird-watching and learning Russian are really my only hobbies xD

a suggestion for a question to add to the survey: Seems good as is...

any suggestions for interests of the community: Not at the moment, methinks.

Why are you a republican?: Hm. I haven't really thought about that. I just am, I guess. My views are (for the most part) really conservative, so I kinda just fell into being a republican i guess?

Do you have any problems being a republican surrounded by democrats?: YES. I have only one friend who's a republican, and she lives 26 hours away. All my classmates and friends are democrats and it drives me crazy most of the time because i honestly can't understand why they believe some of the things they do.

Political Persuasion (liberal, moderate, conservative, libertarian, Christian Conservatives): probably Christian Conservative

how do you feel about the war on terrorism?: I support Bush & our troops 100%

Who's your favorite president?: Reagan, even though I just read an article in government about how the good economy wasn't his doing... whatever. I like W Bush too.

Where are you from? (if you don't mind): Michigan- about 20 miles outside Detroit = lots of democrats

What political issue is most important to you?: abortion

What, if anything, would you do differently
from George W. Bush if you were president?: umm i probably wouldn't push a constitutional ban on gay marriage so much. I think at the federal level a bill like the DOMA should be strengthened, but the issue of gay marriage or civil unions should be left up to the states.

any interesting stories, hobbies, talents?: well it's kinda fun sometimes getting in debates with people who disagree with you and end up not losing. winning's more fun, but that doesn't happen much here.

a suggestion for a question to add to the survey: hmm nope this is pretty thorough lol

any suggestions for interests of the community: can't think of any.

just want to say i'm really glad that i found this community and hope we can have some interesting discussions!

p.s. i'm always open to new friends :)

I'm new here

Name: D.J.

Age: 17

Why are you a republican?: I am a Christian who believes in having our government do what's right.

Do you have any problems being a republican surrounded by democrats?: My beef with democrats is the ones who flip out on you for your political beliefs.

Political Persuasion (liberal, moderate, conservative, libertarian, Christian Conservatives): Christian Conservative

how do you feel about the war on terrorism?: I support the war on terrorism

Who's your favorite president?: Between Ronald Reagan and Teddy Roosevelt. Now Teddy Roosevelt was one who was not afraid and had guts.

Where are you from? (if you don't mind): Virginia which btw hasn't voted for a democratic president since 1964.

What political issue is most important to you?: abortion, gay marriage

What, if anything, would you do differently
from George W. Bush if you were president?: I haven't thought about it.

any interesting stories, hobbies, talents?: Lets see I had to come out as a republican to bandwagon democrats in one of my classes at school. What fun that is. "You're an idiot if you're republican". That urks me to no end. I love marching band and plan to be a band director as my career and I love church. I'm a good trumpet player.

a suggestion for a question to add to the survey: What annoys you about democrats? You respect their decisions yes but something about them annoys you.

any suggestions for interests of the community: not to my knowledge.

Age:16 (17 in a few days)

Why are you a republican?: I am still actively deciding what I want to call myself. Too conservative to be a Democrat, but too liberal to be a full-blown GOP supporter, I'm looking around. I have a conservative outlook on life. I dress and behave modestly, and I expect the same decorum from others. While I am relatively fiscally conservative, I am very libertarian about social issue. While not comfortable with gay marriage, I maintain that abortion is a personal choice, however not one I would choose for myself.

Do you have any problems being a republican surrounded by democrats?: I live in an extremely wealthy town in Massachusetts, so defintley. I am repulsed by liberals who are so self-righteous and 'welcoming' yet the moment anyone expresses an opinion that differs in the slightest, the dissenter is immediatley labelled as discriminatory.

Political Persuasion (liberal, moderate, conservative, libertarian, Christian Conservatives): I lean towards far center left. I support abortion within in reason, but I am a fiscal conservative and my values tend to place me as a conservatie democrat. Also, I am Jewish, and this has impacted my desicions (abstinence, etc).

how do you feel about the war on terrorism?: I am a junior in high school, but I also take several courses at Harvard, one of which is 'The Modern Arabic Novel'. I speak Arabic and Hebrew, so I feel that I have well-rounded and fair prespective. I believe that the war in Afghanistan was absolutley necessary. I am against the Iraq war. I believe true patriotism isn't following blindly, but truly examining the issues.

Who's your favorite president?: Public relations are extremely important to me. While my opinion on this may not go over well in this comm, my favourite recent president is Clinton. Let me explain. First, while I find his behaviour repulsive, I don't believe it was anyone's business; hardly Starr's. Purgery, on the other hand, is everyone's business, and I make no attempts to defend him. Clinton's foreign policy was so effective and his speech so eloquent, he really earned a lot of point for America on forein soil. I say this as the daughter of a British man and a French woman.

Where are you from? (if you don't mind): Newton, MA by ways of Paris.

What political issue is most important to you?: 1. Foreign pol. I believe to maintain its status as a world leader, America must maintain proper and enlightened social policy. 2. Immigration-Immigration has brought many talented and interesting people, and diversity is important, but please, spare me the 'Mayflower lecture'. Honestly. I would rather pay $6 for head of lettuce than taxes to support millions of illegal immigrants. America is for Americans. I'm a tri-citizen (meaning i have citizenship to three countries). I have no issue with immigrants. I do have issues with hoardes of illegal people taking up illegal residence, not paying taxes and contributing to urban slums.

What, if anything, would you do differently
from George W. Bush if you were president?: I would take the issue of international politics much more seriously. Again, foreign policy is big here. Also, I would keep religion out of my rhetoric; I believe that religion is very important, and due to its sacred nature, should be kept in the house.

any interesting stories, hobbies, talents?: I'ma classical musician; I play the piano and French horn.

a suggestion for a question to add to the survey: N/a

any suggestions for interests of the community: Edit the grammar... Republicans are eanring themselves (fairly or not) a face of ignorance, and this is a real losing ground for them around liberals. If you want to be able to effectivley advocate your beliefs, good grammar and language usage goes a long way. :) Very cool site, and shouts to all the Cons in lib areas. Especially those of us whose politics vary from our parent's. It takes courage.

Oh, I love Bruce Willis.

From IMDb:

Willis Offers $1 Million To Fight Terrorism
Actor Bruce Willis has offered $1 million to anyone who turns in al-Qaeda terror leaders. The patriotic Die Hard star will pay out for information on the whereabouts of Osama Bin Laden, Aymen Al-Zawahiri or Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi, the alleged brains behind the 9/11 atrocity. Willis announced his reward on Us TV show Rita Cosby: Live And Direct, where he also slammed biased media coverage of the Iraq war. He said, "I am baffled to understand why the things that I saw happening in Iraq, really good things happening in Iraq, are not being reported on."

Communities up for transfer of ownership [02 Aug 2005|11:53am]

babyox4420
Hi everyone. I wanted to offer 2 communities for a transfer of ownership. The reason is that I no longer have the time that I would like to spend on livejournal and want to focus on my 2 primary communities.

Communities up for transfer of ownership:
There are 2 communities that I would like to transfer. pro_patriotic and republican_co have both been on livejournal since early 2005, and I have not had the chance to really work in those communities to build them they way I would like. Therefore, if anyone in this community (bush_cheney_04) or any of the other communities that have friended us who would like to take control of 1 or both of them, please let me know. Currently they are open, but need to have a member base built and because there are few entries in each, they really can be set to your preferences. Here is a short description below of each community:

republican_co is a community that focuses on issues with the entire republican party. Nothing is off limits as we look at everyone and everything. It goes beyond more of the Bush/Cheney presidency that we tend to focus more on in bush_cheney_04.

pro_patriotic is a community that focuses on our troops and allows members to share stories about their loved ones who are in the war, who have fought for us before, and talk about things in the military in general.

I've done what I could to help the communities out, but it's time where I think a new person running 1 or both of these will be the best thing to help these communities grow. Now, I know that many of you already have communities on livejournal. Therefore, here is what can be done for one or both if you like:

1.) If you have an existing community and you want to add the members from these to your own community (in a sense, shut it down), go ahead.
2.) If you have an existing community and want to build up membership in these communities (therefore keeping the communities), thats ok.

There is only 1 condition that I would like to have as part of the transfer. I would like to still link the communities as part of the alliance like we have with all 11 that we currently list as friends and of course, have you friend us back as well.

The bush_cheney_04 community along with the_right_ideal will remain unaffected in the transfer as they are the flagship communities that we run.

As for the_right_ideal, I invite those who have not joined to please join. It is where you get to use your own thinking, your own ideas, and come up with entries where you dont typically just copy/paste from news articles or those things. Come on over and try it out. All current members are welcome to go into that community as well. There haven't been a ton of entries in there either, but its a unique community that I invite all of you to try.

I believe that Judge Roberts will be an excellent justice. The Senate already knows his record, he was uniamously confirmed by the Senate. But now the liberals again will stall the process in the spirit of partisanship just because they dont like the current president and everything of the bush administration. Massachusetts infamous Senator Ted Kennedy, is worried about Civil Rights based on Robert's previous record and hes making a big deal about that just to try to stall the proceedings in the nomination process. I ask would it be so hard for the senate to be bipartisan in this process of confirming a new justice. If and when Roberts is confirmed he will be on the bench for a long time, which is good because one day he could be chief justice.

Hi. Please don't think of me as a troll quite yet. I'm actually doing this as a "building-a-bridge" type of thing. I always find it interesting to know "the other guys" stance on politics. After all, a belief that isn't challenged once in a while isn't a belief, right? So...I hope ya'll take this as me, (a liberal) wanting to understand and possibly help you (conservatives) understand me a little better, you know?

So here's the survey.Collapse )

Age: 16

Why are you a republican?: My parents raised me Republican, and I agree with many issues like pro-life/law enforcemtn/international relations/homosexual marriage issues/ect. I've also been interested in joining the military since I was very young, and the Republicans are more supportive of the military than the democrats.

Do you have any problems being a republican surrounded by democrats?: absolutely. The whole "teenage rebellion" associates heavily with the liberal persuasion, and I refuse to be apart of it. I stand up for my own beliefs. I'm often considered an "asshole" simply because of my politcal affiliation and strong support for it. I'm interested in artistic subjects where you tend to find more liberal supporters, so that often causes conflict. I caused some very heated debates in my Government class this year (more than 80% of the class was very Liberal so it was often myself and maybe one or two others arguing against 25+ students)

Political Persuasion (liberal, moderate, conservative, libertarian, Christian Conservatives): Conservative

how do you feel about the war on terrorism?: I think its a good cause, but things aren't going very well right now. What we should have done is gone in full-force and gotten the job done  ASAP, no matter how harsh we had to be. I really think we need to go all out now. There has to be sacrifices, innocent or not. I say... let the bombs fall and take total control.

Who's your favorite president?: Hmm... George W. Bush or Reagan

Where are you from? (if you don't mind): Chicago suburbs

What political issue is most important to you?: right now, the military and the upcoming G8 summit (see my entry on </a></a>hip_republicans)

What, if anything, would you do differently
from George W. Bush if you were president?: I would have been a lot more forceful and ruthless with our military in order to get the job done faster in Iraq.

any interesting stories, hobbies, talents?:  I'm a writer? I dont really have much to say about myself.

a suggestion for a question to add to the survey: What issue are you the farthest from agreeing on with Liberals?

any suggestions for interests of the community: America, patriotic teens, the united states military,

Well, it's early in President Bush's second term, but let us take a quick look to the future. Who do you see running? These are my guesses... as good as any. Please note, this isn't necessarily my wish list. Just who I see running.

Keep in mind as well that "open elections" have been particularly kind to Republicans.

2008 Presidential Primaries
Republican Democrat
Bill Frist Hillary Clinton
Rudy Giuliani John Kerry
Condoleezza Rice Ed Rendell
Newt Gingrich Howard Dean
John McCain John Edwards
Jeb Bush Wesley Clark
Pope Benedict XVI Fidel Castro
Angus MacGyver Optimus Prime
Chuck Norris JFK's Left Testicle Preserved in Lard from Michael Moore's Belly
